This is my reality in med school. I just zone out and try and go to a happy place when professors and students start talking about ‘deafness’ through a pathological lens.
I’ve found it extremely difficult to discuss these topics in a positive light with individuals hailing from the medico-scientific domain. Absent are concepts of biological diversity and socio-cultural awareness.embrace Deaf Culture, don’t erase it!
